The 16th, as well as being Malaysia Day, was also the last day of Ghost Month.

Before the Gate of Hell closed, though, maybe the spirits thought they might do a final bit of storm-creating. We didn't experience the violent winds that battered the coast, but we certainly had a cartload of rain over the previous week, which mysteriously stopped yesterday...

But the rain didn't stop the flowers. In fact the grey tones made the colours more vibrant

Anyway, the vegetation is now going crazy:

We're hoping these glowing colours are not the harbinger of another episode of noxious "haze"... Smoke pollution on top of covid restrictions would be tough indeed.

And finally, the munias are back! We'd not seen them since our return, and so far we've only seen them once.
