Since I put up our review of the year on Saturday, not a lot has happened.
Perhaps the most important thing to say is that Kuching is now a covid green zone again. Long may that continue... I hope people don't get complacent.

A new consignment of nuts arrived. This always feels a bit like Christmas. But there's always some contretemps. Last time the brazils were missing; this time it was the pistachios (but some dried mangoes appeared unbidden). We get refunded for the absent items, but it's all very hassly.
The block Christmas tree has gone up. We don't remember having one last year, but obviously someone feels we deserve a little festive spirit this time round:
We went back to the Aeon mall yesterday. Wah... So busy... So different from the last time. We'll be doing our best to avoid malls now until the festive season has passed. Providing the supplies of chocolate, cheese, and wine hold up...
Either yesterday or today, depending on which source you read, was the first day of the eleventh month in the Chinese calendar. I think the folks round here think it was yesterday, which was when our big temple was all lit up, and the little temple round the corner (which we discovered only a few weeks ago) was doing chants and incense.
Today marked the beginning of Nigel's hydrant-and-waterpipe art collection:
We've also done a bit more food and heritage exploration -- but more on that in subsequent posts, because I'm trying to be thematic.
