The covid roundup is pretty easy this week, as the situation in Sarawak is still largely following the same lines as last week: cases down, test positivity rate down, R-rate down, but in the deaths-per-million-people stakes, we're now the worst state in the country by a million miles (with a figure of 61, as opposed to the national average of 23)... What went wrong here...? Nationally, the covid death total stood at 28,769 as of yesterday.

And other news? Well, it's been a pretty dull week, to be honest, mostly filled with pre-departure tasks.

Cleaning, for instance...

Four-and-twenty chair socks hanging on the line; along came a blackbird, and then there were nine...

Booking ferries to my homeland. And booking covid tests... Can't wait for those...

We're still avoiding people, but we get out for walks every day unless it's positively hosing down.

So, aside from our usual meanderings along Jalan Blacksmith, here is the week's gallery:

Early this year, we spotted that the riverfront frieze that tells the story of the mousedeer and the crocodile was being painted. For a long while, only the early panels appeared in colour, but recently there's been a burst of activity, leaving only the one at the end to finish

If you thought coconut golden milk was good, try coconut golden pudding! Coconut milk, eggs, turmeric, allspice, coriander, and pepper... Delicious, especially served with cinnamon apples
