Another great walk from the Walking Englishman...

It was a day with an interesting sky, cloudy but not grey:

The walk takes you over farmland, in resting mode:

The grand edifice below is somewhat inappropriately known as The Hut. According to the Nottinghamshire History Blog: "The house was originally built in the early 1920s to the north of Lowdham and incorporated two American Pacific Railway coaches that the owner had bought after they had been displayed at the 1926 Great Exhibition in Paris. In the 1980s this unusual building was replaced by a grandiose country house."

There are Roman remains in this field, but it's private property, and you can't see anything from the fence

Just before you get there, you'll find a great place for a chocolate break

It's remembrance season, and there are poppies everywhere: on the fronts of trucks, on front-doors, on lamp-posts... I hope they all reflect a yearning for peace...
