Mablethorpe is another east-coast locality that has suffered the depredations of the sea over the years.
We weren't really here for the history, though. We just wanted some fresh sea air while there was still some sunshine to go with it (on the principle that you never know how many more such days you're going to be offered at this time of year).
It was a superbly blue day, so we got exactly what we were looking for.
There's a nice park:
And there's quite a length of promenade to stroll, as you watch the colours changing with the waning light:
Mablethorpe was pretty quiet on this winter weekday. The (many) seaside fish and chip shops were all shut, but we were able to have lunch outside on the terrace at Gerardo's (which does highly recommendable panini).
I'm a sucker for the sea, so I'm hoping we'll be back in this direction sometime soon.
