Our previous five walks have all involved stretches of old railway track (start here, and work forwards). Today's expedition was railway-free. But never mind -- it contained a couple of old mines, which nicely ticked the "old infrastructure" box.

Again, most of this ground I'd never covered...

You start at Glen Maye, and head up to the Cross Vein Mine, situated at a place popularly known as Snuff the Wind.

There was certainly some wind-snuffing going on today. Roaring gales again... Will they ever stop? But, again, so scenic...

After the mine, there's a bit more up, and then a steep section down, before you emerge back in Glen Maye.









There's another route that takes you up here, which we can do from our accommodation, so I reckon we'll be back. Maybe on a sunny day...
