Having enjoyed our last plantation walk (to Archallagan), we decided we'd tackle another one, also accessible on foot from our Foxdale abode. So today we headed for the evocatively named Stoney Mountain.

The weather was ultra-annoying. The forecast said there was a minimal chance of rain. So I didn't wear the magic trousers... Nigel did. But they obviously only work in tandem, because it rained. I cursed a bit. We contemplated quitting the walk early. But we persisted. And fortunately the wet stuff didn't come on too heavily, and eventually eased right off.

And of course, it was scenic, as indeed all our walks have been scenic:

Classic "green lane": stoney as, and occupied by a river for the duration

Over in that direction it looks so much brighter...

Strictly speaking, we're now in the South Barrule plantation, on our way back, but the crucial thing is -- moss!

Another sculptural take on the mythical Buggane. I like this version. The wild and angry figure looks kind of sad
