We continue to trot round very happily, still busy sorting and organizing.

We're loving reconnecting with the local food scene, and have been eating out quite a bit.

A couple of new places to note: Heritage Central Cafe is great for when you stagger, starving, from the Borneo Cultures Museum (excellent nasi goreng dabai, generously studded with Sarawak's answer to olives); and Hock Hai Dim Sum do big, pork-stuffed steamed buns, which are not only delicious, but also didn't do dire things to Nigel's blood sugar (presumably because of the mass of filling).

And, on the subject of Nigel, I'm happy to report he's consistently headache-free at the moment. Fingers crossed...

The beautiful weather seems to have broken a bit this week, unfortunately, and we've had a ton of rain. I hope this is a blip. I would be disappointed if it turns out Sarawak has already returned to its dribbly old ways...

Our purchases have now pretty much all concluded, thank goodness. And -- drumroll -- here are the results:

kitchen
An extra shelving unit provides more worktop and more storage in the kitchen. The microwave has now been accommodated here too (but the oven, as a heat source, stays outside)

bedroom
Transformation! The other half of the kitchen shelving unit replaces the cardboard box that had been my bedside table since we moved in... The ironing-board (now functioning purely in its original role) has moved in here, too. And note the adjustable phone stand. I love this -- hands-free reading, and less strain on the neck!

office
The back bedroom is now definitively the office, sporting Nigel's new desk and chair. As footrests seem to be hard to come by, we converted my old yoga mat. This is Mark 1, which was not quite high enough. Mark 2 -- very successful -- involved cutting the mat in half, and rolling both bits up together. Result: trendy footrest-cum-rolypoly-exercise-device. We're just so damn inventive... :)

And the rest of the week's gallery:
