So we arrived in Sibu on Thursday. Two days ago, in fact. (For the route we'd taken so far, see here and here.)

Over the last few years, we've been round Sibu several times on road trips, but we've not actually visited since March 2019.

We've not checked out any of our old haunts yet, because the apartment we're renting is somewhat out from the centre (the area that was our pedestrian stamping-ground of yore). But this place is handily sited -- right by the Star Megamall (which boasts a basic but useful supermarket), and adjacent to tons of eateries.

Our temporary home is on the second floor of a shoplot, and we're really impressed by its spaciousness and style:

During our July road trip, we'd been enjoying our visits to various branches of The Coffee Code (it's a Sarawakian coffee chain, with five locations). One of our regrets, when we had to abort that trip on account of covid, was that we missed out on the chance to complete the set by trying out the one in Sibu (which is actually the parent).

Making up for lost time, we've been there twice already... This is another place that uses space really well. There's a pleasant indoor seating area:

But there's also a fabulous outdoor area. It's covered, so it's sun- and rain-proof, but it's open-sided, so that you can look out on the garden and the water-feature:

As always, the coffee is expertly made, and the cakes are awesome:

They also do a range of coffee creations ("codetails"). Today I tried the Sarawak Sunset (a mix of cold brew coffee, orange, and yuzu). Really works (it's amazing what coffee pairs with...). Now I want to try the rest of the codetails... How long are we here again...?
