For two days running, we've done river walks. On Sunday (after meeting up for coffee with a former Japanese colleague, whom we'd not seen since 2017...), we headed for the Mikasa River.

On the way:

Monday was Coming of Age Day, which celebrates those who turned (or will turn) 20 between 2 April of the previous year and 1 April of the current year. We saw a few groups wearing kimono, either visiting the shrine or having their photos taken by the river.

Today's waterway was the Naka River:

We had lunch at Hello Coffee. They do coffee and cake, but from 11 am onwards there's also a lunch menu, with good-value set meals (cutlets, plus different types of salad, plus soup, plus rice):

You wouldn't come to Fukuoka specifically to do any of these things. But I really like that we've been here long enough to get to enjoy the ordinary stuff. I'm already starting to feel I'll miss being here...
