Another blowy day, and cold with it. Back into the puffer jacket and the tights under the trousers...

But this walk was well worth the effort.

You start in Laxey, and head up the quiet lanes to Agneash, passing pretty houses and interesting mining remnants on the way:

Once up there, you head off on field tracks, where there are plenty of atmospheric bits of industrial archaeology to look at:

Next, you head back across the fields and down the lanes to Laxey's harbour and seafront:

The wind was barrelling into the promenade:

But things like that should NOT deter you from visiting the Laxey Beach Stop Cafe, which has a little sheltered seating area right next to their premises. Do NOT miss their pulled pork baps (with stuffing and apple sauce), or their home-made ice cream (here we have blueberry on the left, and lemon meringue -- with real bits of meringue! -- on the right):

Then, you forge your way back up the pretty river, past lots more old mining remnants, to Ham and Egg Terrace, where you've left your car:

Another grand day out.
