Having been back in Kuching for more than a month, we decided it was time to hire a car, and do some day trips.
We never plan anything too ambitious on the first day, as we generally arrange to have the car delivered for 10 am. So we made today -- Tynwald Day -- La Promenade day.
La Promenade, you may recall, is a mall on the outskirts of town. Compulsory items on the Tern agenda for this venue are:

My tasty curry, with omelette and nicely squidgy sourdough. And this is why you go out for food -- I would so not have the patience to do that with an avocado...

-- A raid of the ground-floor supermarket (Choice, very good, pity we don't have one closer at hand)
All this was accomplished, but as an added bonus this time, we enjoyed visiting the art exhibition organized by BIC (Borneo Illustration and Creative):

And after all this culture, we drove off to Sungai Sabang to provide my flag (and Taggart) with a scenic backdrop for this year's commemorative picture. The result is at the top (and I really must iron my flag before next year...)
