One thing you're never short of over here is weather. There's always something dramatic going on, and there's even more reason for drama this year, since we're all caught up in an El Nino pattern.

We've had some wonderfully clear days, and also plenty of days that are not bright, but are fine for walking.

But there's also been a certain amount of weather commotion afoot:

When we were in Douglas on Saturday, after our steam train trip, the bay was like a cauldron. The tide was really high, and there was plenty of that famous "overtopping" happening:

We were well and truly routed by rain on Sunday:

Moody...

So, foiled in our attempt to do another route up Slieau Whallian, we headed into Peel. Of course, as soon as we dropped a few metres, the rain stopped, the low cloud cleared, and the sun snuck out. Sigh...

As it was in Douglas the previous day, the tide in Peel was super-high:

But the harbour was still looking lovely, and it was plenty warm enough to sit outside to enjoy your kipper bap:

There's still a surprising quantity of wild flowers around:

And the autumn colours, which have really developed in the two and a bit weeks we've been here, are really beautiful:

So... Tomorrow is the first day of winter. Who knows what that will bring...?
