We had a quick foray along the Limestone Way a few days ago. Today, on a cool and sunless (but fortunately dry) day, we tackled a bit more.
Again you start by taking the Hulleys bus in the direction of Bakewell. But this time you get off at Youlgrave. Or is it Youlgreave? Or even Youlegreave? It seems it's controversial. Not only are there three contending spellings now, but the village has been spelt a score or more different ways down the ages. I'm going with Youlgrave, because that's what the Post Office says.
However you spell it, it's very pretty:
Another surprise: Nine Stone Close. Well, originally, there were nine. When we first looked, there were three
The walk continues very picturesquely, until you eventually emerge near the lead store, where we started our previous section
This will be our last walk in Derbyshire for a few months. It was another good one.
