We're still enjoying pottering around our new flat and our new neighbourhood:
In case you're wondering about the end of the kingfisher story trailed at the top, it wasn't good for the mantis...
So this is all very domestic. However, we're still spending a lot of the working day out. Partly it's because we're avoiding the noise; partly it's because we have long-winded jobs to get through. For example, giving the UK pension people your new details means:
-- going to a cafe to write your change-of-address letters (no, you can't do it online...);
-- going to your favourite copiers to print out the letters;
-- going to your favourite old-fashioned stationary shop to buy sticky tape (because you've remembered to bring envelopes and a pen, but you've forgotten that the sticky flap on the envelope is actually not that sticky);
-- going to another cafe while you sign the letters and address the envelope;
-- going to the Post Office to post the letters.
And there's another hour and a half of your life gone...
What this kind of lifestyle does mean, on the other hand, is that the range of drinks that the week has encompassed is extensive:
A brownie from Flat (to go with their nice coffee). The smidgeon of pink salt just rounds it off beautifully
You probably don't feel you're getting your money's worth with Purple Tern at the moment. We've gone from roaming Europe to dividing our time between cafes and home.
I will try to do better next week.
