Sukhumvit has continued to be a rewarding base for our eight-day BKK trip.
Interesting things continually pop up on our walks. Like a pocket park:
Or an under-the-road garden:
Or a motorbike-themed cafe:
Or an interesting bit of architecture:
You're never far from a wat or shrine:
Or from something wacky:
And, of course, I have continued to collect Thai gates, which are a never-ending source of interest...
Journeys often have awkward hiatuses -- when you've checked out of your hotel, but it's not yet time for your next bit of transport, and you don't want to get too mucky in the interim. Luckily, Sukhumvit's Terminal 21 solved that problem for us. By the time we'd lingered over a cup of coffee, watched Friend Zone (cute...), and downed a bowl of noodles at Hachiban-Ramen 8 (last chance to get into Sukhumvit's Japanese vibe), it was time to go.
At the ramen place, I bought a natty little "8" purse in which to transport my daily chemicals. How sad is that...? But hey, here's handy 8 at Hualamphong Station, ready for our next adventure. So, chemicals or no chemicals, the journey continues...
