It has been a very busy and interesting week. I've written elsewhere about the
Tua Pek Kong Temple procession and our
Kai Joo Lane foray.
But there have also been another couple of informative events:
Learning about dragons on Sunday...
... and about cetaceans on Tuesday
Plus some more rain...
A full river, and the tidal flow is still heading upstream...
And -- of course -- there has been more good food, simply because this is Kuching:
Nam Joo's classic fruit
rojak. I'm a bit wary of rojak, as it's sometimes too sweet and gloppy. Nam Joo's is neither. Big tick
This is Kantin's mushroom salad bowl with terong asam
And their tasty chicken chop with crispy tapioca leaves and a good sambal
A nice variant on laksa from Yi Ann, another kopitiam that's nearby but new to us
Fish-filled porridge from Fu Yu
And Windmeal now do pleasantly crispy kaya-and-butter croissants. With half-boiled eggs, they're a nice variant on a classic Malaysian breakfast
And finally, the rest of the week's gallery:
