I have little to report. Just as we were last week, we're still under an MCO, which limits our radius to the end of our neighbourhood.

Malaysia's (and Sarawak's) covid numbers are slowly improving. But "slowly" is the operative word. We're not seeing dramatic declines. And the country's cumulative deaths have now punched well beyond the 4,000 mark.

Every day brings more news about about vaccines. Overall, it's good news. But supply, as you can see from the charts in this article, is still a concern, and could still threaten the phased approach currently under way.

Equally, glitches in the supply chain could radically affect the National Recovery Plan that was announced this week.

Needless to say, we're fervently hoping the infection numbers start a more convincing downturn, and vaccine provision holds up.

Because we are all so, so sick of this...

We continue to walk our neighbourhood. This is a nice little Schleichweg, which connects Jalan Sekama and Jalan Tan Sri Datuk William Tan. The bit before the path shown here is always full of cats, and the bit before that is always full of pigeons:

We continue to get up at 4.30, and two or three times a week, we head out very early for our walk, to enjoy the quiet and the dark. On the way home, we pick up porridge or noodles for breakfast (Mei Mei is close enough to get the food home while it's still piping hot and delicious):

I've said it before, but I LOVE the morning light:

Just about the only advantage of the MCO (as far as we're concerned anyway) is that it has pretty much halted the work on our local building site.

So balcony time now happens in the evening as well as the morning:

I've mentioned already that this is a funny old dry season, and we copped a good, old-fashioned, wet-season soaking the other day:

And still on the theme of falling water, you may remember from last week that we'd taken refuge in the spare bedroom, to escape the drippy aircon unit in the living room. Well, the aircon in the spare bedroom -- which used to drip, but then seemed to have magically healed itself, and was dry for over a week -- started to drip too... So now we spend the day in the main bedroom...

If there's one thing nobody could accuse us of, it's inflexibility...
