Today is Day 28 of the MCO, so we are still confined within the circumference of our neighbourhood.

That being the case, it's disappointing that covid numbers remain high, both in Malaysia as a whole and in Sarawak (with 5,812 and 673 new cases today respectively). The vaccination campaign continues to make strides, however.

The virtual Rainforest World Music Festival made a nice change this week. The adverts for Sarawak were a bit frustrating -- we KNOW it's beautiful here, but we can't GO anywhere, and we haven't been ALLOWED to go anywhere since January, and now we can't even GO as far as the river... -- but the music was great.

Otherwise, we celebrated the solstice, and we celebrated midsummer...

If you've been following the saga of our drippy aircon, you'll probably be as surprised as we are to find that the unit in the living room has stopped haemorrhaging water. We have no idea why, but as this means we're not confined to the bedroom any more, it's a Good Thing -- while it lasts.
