In case you're losing track (I am, and the pun was unintentional), these are the walks so far that have featured bits of the Manx Northern Railway: the Spooyt Vane loop; the Slieu Curn circuit; the bit near Peel; and the Staarvey circuit.

Today, possibly the windiest and coldest day we've had on the Island so far (and boy, have we had some cold and windy days...), we walked the little stretch from Glen Mooar to Glen Wyllin and on to Kirk Michael:

There's a lot more of interest here than we realized at the time, but it was hard to linger because it was so ridiculously COLD

In Hall Caine's The Manxman (which I'm currently reading), Old Deemster Christian of Ballawhaine -- "Iron Christian" -- called his elder son Thomas Wilson, "after the serene saint who had once been Bishop of Man"

This was one of our shorter walks, but given the wind chill today, we felt a certain sense of achievement at even attempting it.
