While we were having dinner together on Thursday, one of our "dining club" buddies mentioned that she had a package to deliver at 20th mile on Saturday morning, and asked if we'd all like to come with her. Definitely, we said.

We all set off at about 5.45, and were back by 9.30, but it was a really cool little trip.

These friends are great company, and every time we meet up with them, we learn a lot more about Sarawak.

This morning's trip was a real foody experience.

First stop, Siburan, for coffee and kuih:

kuih
Glutinous rice flour wrapper, enclosing a bean filling; there was a peanut-filled one too, but I forgot to photograph that...

Then a bit of a tour of the vegetable sellers (the picture at the top shows a kind of sweetcorn, plus our famous jungle ferns).

Then off to do our delivery, with the countryside looking beautiful:

Finally, back to Siburan Hawker Centre for breakfast proper (mine was a really nice curry mee). There are plenty of snack-buying opportunities here as well. For instance:

cinnamondonut
A kind of cinnamon doughnut (went nicely with tea this afternoon)

And there's still some herbal jelly and snow fungus dessert waiting for us in the fridge for tomorrow...
