There's currently a great little exhibition at the site that used to be the Ting & Ting supermarket (still in existence when we first settled in Kuching) and is now Think & Tink (a versatile art space that has also recently opened a little book corner, called Ithaca Books, and therefore sure of future support from the Terns, and a cafe, which we'll also try, although the chairs do look worryingly low...).

The building

Dalam means both "inside" and "deep", and the exhibits (drawn from across Borneo) variously speak to the themes of identity, intersection, and the inner world:

crocs

kimono

mats

poem
One of several very moving language-and-identity poems

I love this version of concept-mapping

menstruation
Combatting the "menstrual taboo"

This space -- with its throwbacks to its retail origins -- really works, I feel:

wall's

door

stairs

roofgarden

wire&roofs

shrooms

Looking forward to getting better acquainted with this place in the future.
