After several days of horrible smoke pollution, we finally enjoyed some respite. Yesterday it rained! And the rain cleared the air. And we are so, so grateful!
Walking by the river in the evening, I felt as though I'd been released from prison:

We checked out a lovely cafe called Nam Joo, on Jalan Gambier. Formerly a grocer's shop, the building has been simply and atmospherically restored
