I'm feeling a bit persecuted at the moment. If it's not one thing, it's another... I'd felt so happy yesterday and earlier today, rapt to be able to get out and about again after the smog misery.

Then this evening, yet another bout of loud music drove us from home...

I think there's no doubt that Kuching is getting noisier. On one of our early-morning walking routes, we now regularly hear (still going at about 5 am) the thud-thud-thud of a nightclub. I've been woken a couple of times by the shenanigans at the Planetarium. Someone in the neighbourhood had a rowdy party a few weeks ago, which went on until late. And twice this week, we've had this godawful racket, which emanates from a source unknown a couple of streets away. There's absolutely nowhere in our flat where you can avoid the noise -- particularly the thump-thump-thump of the bass, which you can literally FEEL.

The first time this happened, the din didn't go on for long. But tonight it went on and on, and we just had to get out.

I suppose this is a tale of silver linings. We'd been planning to go to the exhibition at Think & Tink, which we became aware of only yesterday. So, involuntarily exiled, we thought tonight was an ideal opportunity.

It's called Karya Badan (which means Body Work), and it shows us what tattoo artists can do when they work in a different medium.

Very interesting... I have no insightful commentary, so I'll just leave you with some representative images:

So that was all very fascinating. Afterwards, you can sit on the dinky chairs of Healer's Cafe, and drink rose oolong tea, which is also a very pleasant experience.

Unfortunately, the cacophony was still going when we arrived home.

Seriously, folks, noise is noxious... STFU!!
