I spilled most of the September beans a week or so ago.

It's not been a fantastic month for us.

But at least we aren't subject to ongoing dismemberment:

Another bit bites the dust

The best news is the clearing of the air in the last week or so. There are still fires burning in the region, so we might not be entirely safe yet, but recently -- as you can see from the photo at the top -- visibility has been fabulous.

Low-carbing carries on, with some degree of success.

But we still have an insurance impasse, which continues to be a big worry.

So, although we enjoyed our trip to KK, the month has been overshadowed by crap.

Come, October. I'm ready to welcome you with open arms...

In the meantime, there's always a cat to cheer us up:
