As always, we're very much enjoying spending time with family.

To date, the January weather has been chilly, but quite kind. (This may change next week, we hear... Some of the trees are starting to bud, and daffodils are thrusting upwards in the park, so we're hoping the little chaps haven't been bamboozled by the relatively mild temperatures.)

It's great to eat things that we can't get at home (or we can't get conveniently and/or cheaply).

Stilton!!

Bacon
Smoked salmon
Brussels sprouts (so maligned -- I love them)
Parsnips
Watercress...

And it's good to take in a beauty that's so different from the tones and textures we are normally surrounded by.
